Alabaster (Alabastro) is a stone with properties and features that makes it unique in its own kind. The reflections shed by its transparency can be noticed even at the first glance. Although it looks fragile and delicate it needs the hand of the man to find out its identity. Used even by the ancient Egyptians, it is a precious hydrated calcium sulphate. The objects created with this material enhance its consistency and intrinsic elegance. Its characteristic white colour is often accompanied by suggestive veining that ranges from clear gray to dark brown.
